BEACON HILL SEATTLE

 TODAY THE WHEEL SPUN  BEACON HILL FUN FACTS Bacon Hill was named for the original "Beacon Hill" in Boston. The towering 16 story Pacific Medical Building that you see from I-5 that looks like an insane asylum or a building out of Gotham City was originally a hospital built in the the 1930's and was the Amazon headquarters for 10 years.  The Twelfth Street Bridge (offering spectacular views of Downtown Seattle) was built because the pre-existing hill was cut out to make easier access to downtown. FOODS   We ate at the Oak Restaurant on Beacon Ave S.  The Oak Salad with Grilled Chicken and the Penne and Cheese were outstanding.  COFFEE We popped into Bar Del Corso for Cappuccino and Tea. The atmosphere is delightful.  EXTRAS Beacon Hill was founded in the 1850's, but still maintains some great character and charm. We recommend spending your date night on Beacon Ave. South.
